Preserved
  Hydrangea
~   Capturing the versatility and beauty of this classic Victorian bloom.  ~

About 14 years ago, Flower Child introduced locally-grown and preserved hydrangea blooms to the Ozarks.

These beauties are treated with a special formula during the drying process that allows them to stay soft and, therefore workable.  Traditional dried hydrangea is very prone to shattering and very hard to work with.

Another bonus of our preserved hydrangea is the beautiful color selection.  Natural basil green is the most popular because it so closely resembles ripe 'Annabelle' (aka:"snowballs") hydrangea.
Other colors that are available from time to time include mauve, burgundy, blue, violet, russet orange and harvest gold.

Without the color treatment, the preserving solution causes the heads to turn an unattractive brown.

After they are preserved, the colors can be changed and enhanced with any of the wonderful floral spray paints available on the market.

While beautiful on their own, these heads can be broken into smaller pieces and tucked into wreaths, centerpieces, Christmas trees, etc..

When we have extra preserved hydrangea, it will be available for sale by itself through our shopping section.  Mostly, this exquisite hydrangea is used in our wreaths and other floral designs.
